About the club

Service above self, close to home.

Sakkare Naadu means the land of sugar — and Mandya has always given more than it takes. Our club carries that habit forward. We are 18 members drawn from business, farming, teaching and the professions, who meet, plan, and then turn up: at a school gate, a village clinic, a plantation site, a blood bank.

Chartered under Rotary International District 3192, the Rotary Club of Sakkare Naadu Mandya works close to home. Every project starts with a real need somebody in the club has seen for themselves, and ends with a report we are happy to show anyone.

Leadership 2026–2027

The people who sign off on the work.

Office bearers are elected by the members for each Rotary year, July to June. They chair the weekly meetings, approve the project calendar, and are the first point of contact for anyone who wants to partner with us.

Service projects

Eight ways we spend a Rotary year.

Each avenue below runs at least once a year, with a member named as project chair. Replace the descriptions with your own reports as projects are completed.

Animal welfare camp

Free vaccination and first-aid camps for stray dogs and cattle, run with a visiting veterinary team.

Student school projects

Notebooks, bags and science kits for government school students, plus career talks before board exams.

Tree plantation

Native saplings planted along canal bunds and school compounds, with members adopting each site for a year.

Health awareness

Village sessions on hygiene, anaemia and eye care, followed by free screening with partner hospitals.

Blood donation

Camps held twice a year with the district blood bank, and a standing donor list members can be called from.

Community service

Ration kits, cleaning drives and festival meals for old age homes in and around Mandya town.

Education support

Fee assistance and evening tuition for students at risk of dropping out after class 10.

Environmental activities

Plastic-free campaigns, lake clean-ups and waste segregation workshops for resident associations.
